The Marble baths overnight hike is to one of the nicest swimming pools in the foothills of the Central Drakensberg.
This Drakensberg hike is a wonderful introduction to hiking in the Drakensberg. We still trek up to 4 hours each day so really get to check out the beautiful mountains and we camp near a magnificent swimming pool.
This is an ideal hike for beginners and families, but it is also great for those who just want a Drakensberg Hiking experience. It’s only 2 days so perfect if you don’t have the time for an extended hike. Read here to see how to prepare for your hike with us.
Marble baths is surrounded by huge mountains.
We start the hike at Injisuthi and stroll along a clear footpath for almost 2 hours. Heading up the Injisuthi valley is absolutely stunning. Soon though we must turn right with the ‘Ape’ and ‘Old woman grinding corn’ towering way above us. Now we are in the valley on the way to the base of Leslie’s pass.
Summer is a perfect time to do this hike because the cave is close to the best swimming spot in the whole Drakensberg.
